I visited Dimbola in October and have become fascinated by the history and the people, I didn't realise there were Palmer ties there - I'm so glad I came across your blog! xAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8617545316864155046.post-76265864746200143262015-10-26T03:44:15.023-04:002015-10-26T03:44:15.023-04:00Hi WoofWoof,

I also looked for any JMC photographs of Mary couldn't find any with her married and or maiden name. Who know perhaps she is one of the numerous unidentified women in Mrs. Cameron's photographs! (Here's hoping). I haven't had time to research the brothers been a bit busy with real life but would be good to know! It was nice to find Tennyson's name and not all that surprising. I can only imagine what the father saw during the war.

Thanks for stopping by and for making time out of your day to read my articles. Much appreciated :)

Kimberly Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06701922878244863690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8617545316864155046.post-88372448045579778332015-10-26T02:59:46.762-04:002015-10-26T02:59:46.762-04:00What a sad story. How difficult it must have been ...What a sad story. How difficult it must have been for Mary, the mother, to lose her husband with 6 children five of them aged 0, 1, 2, 3, 5. I presume she would have received a widow pension from the army (which would have been discontinued if she remarried). I presume she must have settled down in Freshwater before her death. Did She appear in any of Julia's photographs, do you know? Also, I wonder what became of the brothers? I presume they too would have been adopted by someone. Interesting that one brother lived to 102. The scene with Tennyson dropping in with his American guest is interesting - probably not the best time for a social call... (Just as an aside, it sounds like the family would have been in India during the Sepoy mutiny and no doubt he was involved in the aftermath and was decorated for action during that conflict. One wonders what awful things they saw/experienced during those terrible years).

Thanks again Kimberly for a wonderfully interesting story and amazing piece of research.WoofWoofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14142792485921452481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8617545316864155046.post-61184044725198021852015-10-22T11:33:48.997-04:002015-10-22T11:33:48.997-04:00Hi Essie,
